Speedbumps on the Road to 1.0 and Steam Release

So everything detailed in the last post is done. 1.0 is basically finished, with optional male voice acting, new CGs, art fixes, a scene viewer and lots of other fixes. There's only one issue. It's the Steam release. I've talked to someone who is experienced in the field of releasing games on Steam and they said that there some more changes I will probably have to make to safely get the game on Steam and keep it on there.

These changes will NOT involve changing any of scenes, the story, or the main male and female characters, don't worry. They will mainly be some art changes to minor or background characters. Also, I am going have to integrate the game with Steam as well as figuring out achievements(?) and trading cards(?).

Depending on the advice I get and the amount of work that needs to be done, I might just release what I have so far as 0.9.1, or I may just give it a bit more time in the oven to release 1.0 simultaneously on Steam and itch (and hopefully GOG and other places down the road).

This whole experience has been a massive learning experience to me about every aspect of making games and there is so much I know now that I wish I had known to begin with. My next game I am going to make both with better experience and understanding, as well as bringing on more people to help so I am not spread so thin trying to do too much at once.  At the start of this, I was just one guy with no experience developing, coding or publishing a game of any sort, but now I have more contacts and knowledge.

I believe everything I've learned and the new people I have helping me will allow me to make my next game much better and much faster. I'll keep you guys updated as I come to the end of my journey with Lysandra and start on the next one!
